| Welcome to California Latino Medical Association (CaLMA) Los Angeles Chapter. Los Angeles is home to a large majority of CaLMA's Latino physicians and has served as its headquarters since our inception in 1998. Under the direction of Dr. Juan Villagomez, two large active Latino physician organizations, Chicano Medical Association of California (CMAC) and California Hispanic Medical Association (CHAMA) merged and resurfaced as CaLMA, adopting a statewide structure.
CaLMA has been the fortunate recipient of an impressive board of dedicated Latino health professionals throughout its development; a board that has also served as a professional think tank for California policymakers. As a whole, Latino physicians hold education and access to healthcare as top priorities. We at CaLMA share these priorities along with our members.
